LextEdit

I was really surpised, how LextEdit handle my SQL's, I used to "just" write, do a formatting later, Lextedit does it for me immediatelly...great... I also use this software as alternative one to sw which is deliverered to our WMS system and I was really surprised that Lextedit can actually work immediatelly with WMS build in commands and to "suggest" the right command to write. And the best thing is, it's free...Excellent job! Thanks a lot.

I have been using LextEdit for last three years...This tool helps me a lot to write variety of codes like SQL query, C code, XML etc. The trace profiler is very handy tool. It provides only information you need to see, it will hide other information which you don't need, this help's me to look through trace faster. The History command is very useful on a daily basis, because it keeps the history of your code; so I can review or update my code which I wrote two weeks ago or two years ago. Instead of rewriting the code from scratch.

Version 2.5 is definitely a lot faster and cooler than earlier versions. It is user friendly with many helpful prompted information and tools / utilities to export data and retrieve past commands and outputs, if you are just a regular user. It is also powerful to support the need of professional users, if you opt to do a lot of customization to meet your programming need.

I have been using LextEdit for a long time now to help develop and write new processes for existing systems. The command history and component lookup make my job easier on a daily basis. The calendar in the command history lets me easily see if I missed recording hours on a weekend and the searching of commands allows me to review scripts I ran a year ago and quickly update to preform a task. Without LextEdit's extensive history of commands executed I would have to reinvent the wheel each time I wanted to do something. Now, I just look back for similar commands and modify them, saving me precious time. We use LextEdit's code formatting as a standard on our client's sights making visibility and understanding easier for even the newest member to our team.

Working more in an operational capacity than technical I was truely suprised at the ease in which I was able to pickup and use the tool. Not only was I able to define connections easily I was able to define my preferences, understand more about the table structures and field attributes within my project and get to the data I needed. I have to say the best point for me however has been in Trace Profiler, which allowed me to customize how the data is presented so I can quickly see what is important to me and how I want to see it. Because better tools do matter is so spot on for this product!
